- On June 14, Blue Grass Chemical Activity (BGCA) bid a fond farewell to Col. Scott Gould and family and extended a hearty welcome to their new commander, Lt. Col. Rodney McCutcheon.
- CMA held a change of command ceremony August 2, as the activity’s outgoing director, Col. James F. Reckard III, entered retirement and relinquished command to Col. Kelso C. Horne III.
- Former CMA Director Nathaniel Farmer returned to CMA as Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) Director in 2018.
- During his final Command and Information gathering at CMA before his retirement, Col. James F. Reckard III presented Recovered Chemical Materiel Director (RCMD) Larry Gottschalk and CMA Deputy Director Frank Belcastro with the Honorable Order of the Dragon. The Chemical Corps Regimental Association gives the award “to recognize ‘Dragon Soldiers’ who have demonstrated the highest standards of integrity and moral character, an outstanding degree of professional competence, and have contributed to the promotion of the Chemical Corps in numerous ways over the course of their career.”
